Lone Pine Parent Teacher Organization

 LONE PINE PARENT TEACHER ORGANIZATION

Building a good relationship between parents and educators is one of the goals of your PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization).  Your PTO strives to develop and maintain that beneficial relationship.  In working towards this goal, your PTO helps support the teachersí efforts to provide the best academic, physical, and social opportunities for each child at Lone Pine Elementary School.
Through fundraisers, your PTO provides funds for educational opportunities that other wise would not be made available through normal school funding.  These funds support the purchase of computers; software; audio/visual and classroom supplies; curriculum-enhancement programs; and the presentations by various organizations, such OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry).  Your PTO sponsors fun-filled family events that include the Fall Carnival, Silent Auction, family skate nights and the Celebration of Learning.  Also, the monthly Birthday Table and Teacher Appreciation Luncheon are events that your PTO helps organize in school.
For your convenience, your PTO publishes a free phone directory for all students at Lone Pine every year.
Everything your PTO accomplishes is because of you, the Wildcat parent/guardian.  Without you and your willingness to support your school and in essence support your child(ren), your PTO would not be able to continue funding certain programs.  In working together, we as a whole, make our school and children stronger.
PTO meeting are held every third Thursday at 3:45 p.m. in the Main Office Conference Room.  All parents are encouraged to attend.  We will strive to keep our meetings to one hour, and make good use of your time by having a clear agenda, with information about items requiring action.  We understand that parentsí time is valuable, but we need input from a variety of parents when decisions need to be made about where PTO money is to be spent.  Your Wildcat newsletter and PTO newsletter will have specific dates.
