Parent Involvement

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Community involvement is encouraged at Abraham Lincoln. Students, the school, and the volunteers, themselves, benefit from the time and energy spent. We appreciate the many people who will volunteer many collective hours to help us better meet the needs of our students.

PARENT-TEACHER ORGANIZATION: The Abraham Lincoln Booster Club is organized to operate under the guidance of elected officers and stated Booster Guidelines. The group includes as many parents as possible in the activities and decisions of the group. The Booster Club supports many school activities and sponsors additional events each year.

VOLUNTEERS IN MEDFORD SCHOOLS: "VIMS" are very important to A.L.E. Parents and other citizens help teachers and students in the classrooms; work in the Media Center; and provide assistance to students as needed. Volunteers are also used periodically when special projects need to be completed. If you are interested, there are applications forms available in the office.

ROOM PARENTS: A room parent helps with the class parties. S/he may also be asked to help with Booster Club projects. The room parent calls upon parents to donate refreshments for special school functions, and to relay information from the committee. You may volunteer to be a room parent by contacting your child's teacher at the beginning of the year.
