Lynn Cataldo, Principal

Thank you for visiting the Hoover website to learn more about our great school. Children come first at Hoover. The success we have achieved with students is due to a strong and caring staff working together, great parental involvement, and a focus on student learning. We are very proud of our students and community for helping make our school one of the very best in Oregon and the United States.

Hoover students are successful students who consistently score well on state assessments. We have also been awarded “Accreditation with Merit” by Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC for success in helping all children achieve at the highest academic level possible in core curriculum areas of reading/writing and mathematics/science.

Hoover underwent a needed major remodel of approximately three million dollars during the summer of 2007 with 549C Bond Money. This included asbestos abatement, new heating ventilation and air conditioning, upgraded lighting, painting inside and out, new flooring and much more. In the summer of 2013, Hoover will get another up-grade to enhance the security and safety of our building and facilities. Thank you Medford 549C patrons!

Our school has top notch curriculum materials. We have state-of-the-art computer labs and technology access. We are one of two schools in our district that participated in a national pilot of Reading Street reading program which the district has since adopted. Our staff has been highly trained and implementing many best practice strategies to help our intensive and strategic reading students make adequate progress and reading. As a reading supplement, we use Accelerated Reader (AR) which is part of the Reading Renaissance program. We use SuccessMaker interactive computer programs as a math and reading supplement allowing students to advance and teachers to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.

The blend of an academic focus, helping others in need, the use of state-of-the-art technology and the implementation of innovative research based curriculum helps Hoover stay at the forefront of Medford School District and education in Oregon and America.

We hope you find answers to frequently asked questions on our website as you get a general overview of our school. You are always welcome to call the school principal, Lynn Cataldo (541-842-3750) for further information about our school.
