ATHLETICS


 Students who want to participate in school sports need to show that they are healthy and that they are covered by insurance.  They cannot participate in a school athletic tryouts or practice until the following forms are on file in the Hedrick Activities Office. 
 
Sports Physicals:
Please plan ahead - Sports Physical Appointments may be difficult to get at the beginning of the sports season!

 

PLACEMENT ON TEAMS
All participants need to plan on attending ALL tryout days in order to be placed on a team. 

Competitive cuts may be made in the following sports:
Boys Football, Girls Volleyball, Boys Basketball and Girls Basketball if necessary.
   
Participation Fees
New for the 2014-2015 school year, all athletes are required to pay $37.50 per sport, with a cap of $75 per year. For teams that have cuts - Football, Volleyball, and Boys & Girls Basketball- payment will be due the first Friday after teams are finalized. Cross Country, Wrestling and Track fees are due prior to the start of the season.

Participation Fee Refund
If an athlete is injured and can no longer participate because of the injury, the family may appeal to the athletic director for a partial or full refund. If an athlete quits the team or becomes ineligible to participate, the participation fee will not be refunded.  

Financial Need
We understand how important athletics are for our Middle School students. If the pay-to-play fee may be a hardship for your family, we do have financial assistance available. We will not refuse any athlete for inability to pay. Please contact Melissa Johnston, Athletics Secretary at 541-842-3703 if you would like to apply for a partial/full scholarship.

 

Sports Schedules
Conference Athletic Directors will develop all sports schedules.  Coaches will send home schedule information with their athletes when dates are finalized. Parents/guardians can log online to www.medford.k12.or.us/hedrick for up to date schedules of all Hedrick athletics and activities. They can also check driving directions to other schools.            
 

 
All Hedrick Athletes must have on file with the Athletics Secretary:

*COMPLETED AND UP TO DATE OSAA PHYSICAL FORM SIGNED BY PARENT AND PHYSICIAN (WITH DATE OF PHYSICAL)

*COMPLETED ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION REGISTRATION FORM WITH HEALTH INSURANCE INFORMATION SIGNED BY PARENT

ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE MEDICAL INSURANCE. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE COVERAGE, FLYERS ARE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE THE NECESSARY COVERAGE THROUGH AN INDEPENDENT PROVIDER.

ANY ATHLETE WITHOUT THESE ITEMS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE.
